Introducing the new dash notifications experience

What's new

Notifications used to pile everything into one list, so the few things that actually needed you got buried under the hundreds that didn’t. We fixed that.

Why: today notifications are one firehose (FYIs + must-do work mixed together). Advisors cope by hitting “mark all as done,” which every few weeks clears a real, time-sensitive item along with the noise. The bell stopped meaning anything. The rebuild makes the bell trustworthy again.

The model in one line: everything is recorded in Activity (always on); the subset that needs you is pulled into your Inbox; Preferences is where you decide what counts as needing you.

The three surfaces

1. Inbox — what needs you

Opens from the bell in the top nav, from anywhere in Dash.

• The bell counts things that need you — not unread. The number going down means work got done; zero means genuinely caught up.
• A peek, then the full list. Clicking the bell shows a quick peek of the latest; glancing at it does not mark anything read. You go to the full Inbox to actually work through items.

• Two actions on every item: Snooze (“not now” — comes back later today / tomorrow / next week, so nothing is lost) and Archive (“done”).

• Handle a batch at once: select several similar items → a bar lets you Archive the whole selection. (Select-all is scoped to the current page and says so.)
